Elmer spent his career in the Dubuque fire service and retired as a captain. He has taught first aid, CPR and water rescue to crews and to teens ever since, and he leads every lifeguard course and every recertification morning.

Aisha spent years on the stand at pools around Dubuque before she started teaching. She runs the in-water practice beside Elmer on every course day, so every student has someone watching their practice.
Take the swim test, and an instructor will be on the deck.
