What the swim test asks
The test shows us that you are comfortable in deep water before we ask you to work in it. We describe the distances and times when you register, so nothing is a surprise on the day.

How test day runs
- 01
Step 1: Arrive and sign in
Come in a swimsuit with a towel. An instructor meets you at the pool door and writes your name on the list.

Step 2: Swim the test
You swim each part once with an instructor watching from the deck or the step.

Step 3: Talk it through
We say what went well and what to practice. If a part needs work, we help you plan the next try.
